• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings or color schedules to determine the specifications and materials required for a project are correct.

• Walk on, work around rough terrain to perform the rigorous work task of lifting and aligning blocks for extended periods of time and during inclement weather.

​

• Operate equipment (telehandler, aerial lift and scissor lifts).

​

• Knowledge of scaffold safety.  Climb on, work from and rearrange scaffolding as required.

​

• Wear personal protective equipment including fall arrest systems or harnesses.

​

• Lift 15-20 lb blocks for 6-8 hours a day.

​

• Physical movement includes bending, kneeling and rotating the upper body while lifting 10-20 lbs in your hands.

​

• Lay bricks accurately to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures according to plans and specifications.

​

• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as trowels, levels, jointers, and mixers to ensure a precision and quality installation.

​

• Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks with a brick saw or 4” power grinder to fit around windows, doors, and other structures.

​

• Inspect and assess existing structures to determine necessary repairs or maintenance.

​

• Repair and replace damaged bricks, block, or other materials.

​

• Collaborate with other construction professionals, such as superintendents other subcontractors foreman to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.

​

• Clean tools, participate in team housekeeping of your work area.

​

• Direct/manage your tender/helper to be proactive and plan for upcoming tasks.

​

• Documentation – take pictures of job site conditions - existing, work performed, beginning, during & after.

​

• File daily reports electronically
